IDEATION

In the first portion of our project we used a few methodologies to develop our idea and narrow our scope.  By the end of the project, we realized how valuable these exercises were as we constantly referred back to them.

PERSONAS

Two personas were created.  One is a trainer, who would be the person subscribing to the app and using with their clients.  The other is a client, someone who hires a trainer and has a range of goals of gaining muscle, losing weight, or staying active.

MOOD BOARD

A mood board was created in order to inspire us and ground us in our focus.  It showcases some of our goals and critical elements that we wanted incorporated in our system.

SCENARIOS

We created four scenarios in total.  For our two personas (a trainer and a client) we developed a design and usage scenario.  A design scenario showcases pain points that our system can help address and the usage scenario showcases how the system would ideally help solve those problems.

MARKETING MATERIAL

We developed some sample marketing material.  It was used for a few reasons including getting management sign off, effectively communicating our products value, and keeping us focused on our most important features.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS

Knowing that there are many apps in the fitness space, we wanted to understand if there were any competitors in the specific space we were going after.  Upon further research we found there were but none that included smart watch integration, making our concept unique.

SKETCHES

Sketching is an integral part to the design process. Before spending any time on digital prototypes our team did some sketches about what we wanted in our app.  We then walked each other through them and picked out the parts we liked best from each to turn into our low and mid fidelity prototypes for testing.
